One of the UK’s top four Wi-Fi providers used an early version of the EGA Automation platform across their vast, multi-vendor network to dramatically accelerate troubleshooting and improve overall network performance.
Challenge
To maintain exceptional network performance, one of the UK’s biggest Wi-Fi providers needed to find a faster way to troubleshoot network issues. Because multiple vendors and technologies are used on the vast network, fact-finding during incidents could take engineers up to 30 minutes. This is before they could even begin diagnosing root causes, planning or implementing changes. It significantly slowed response times and prolonged network impact.
Solution
EGA Tech automated the collection of diagnostic information across the entire network using the the troubleshooting component of an early version of our EGA Automation platform. The platform provided recommended next steps based on the data returned, which gave our engineers a clear, immediate path to resolution.

Results
- Thanks to EGA’s automation process, information-gathering time was reduced from 30 minutes to 1 minute.
- The Wi-Fi provider’s engineers reduced the manual effort for raising changes from 5 minutes to 15 seconds (95% reduction).
- Additionally, the organisation could consolidate the use of multiple automation scripts into a single platform. This resulted in a more streamlined and efficient troubleshooting process and significant improvements in the overall network performance.
